M2 Assignment 2: Conducting a Job SearchAn undergraduate psychology degree provides you with some flexibility when selecting a career.
/in Uncategorized /by JosephM2 Assignment 2: Conducting a Job Search
An undergraduate psychology degree provides you with some flexibility when selecting a career. The knowledge of how people think, develop, and behave, as well as the interpersonal skills gained from a BA in psychology may lead to work in the field, but also prepares you well for careers in the fields of public service, marketing, or management, among others. Because most professional careers in psychology require further education, those who do not wish to pursue graduate degrees may need to broaden the scope of careers they are willing to consider.
In M1 Assignment 2, you explored your career interests and identified three careers that seemed best suited for you. In this assignment, you will conduct a mock job search and report your findings using the “Job Search Data Bank” form.
Mock Job Search
Select one of the three careers you identified and discussed in M1 Assignment 2 and conduct a job search for actual openings in your area. If you are willing to eventually relocate, you may choose openings elsewhere as well. You may choose to use at least one source or all of the following sources to find available positions in your chosen career of interest:
Refer to the Job Resources document to find additional online sources relating to online job searches.
Job Search Data Bank
Download and review a copy of the Job Search Data Bank template. Provide the results of the mock job search you completed for this assignment by filling out the table in the template.

Poster presentations at conferences are effective methods of communicating research findings. The discussion of the research being presented is a key element in poster conferences.
/in Uncategorized /by JosephPoster presentations at conferences are effective methods of communicating research findings. The discussion of the research being presented is a key element in poster conferences. During professional conferences, poster presenters speak with other psychology professionals providing insights into the information offered within the poster as well as explaining key elements of the research findings. See the PSY699 Poster submission guidelines for templates and guidelines to aid in the creation of your poster.
For this week’s discussion, you will be submitting a link to Pathbrite where your colleagues will find your poster presentation along with a brief detailed explanation of the materials included in it. Poster presentations are typically informal affairs with limited time for presenters to provide extra information. In keeping with this, your explanations of the materials will be limited to specific parameters. To explain the research presented in your poster, you will be creating a 3- to 5-minute screencast video. You may use any screencast software to create this video or PowerPoint. Within the screencast video, you will create a voice over that will point out unusual, unique, and important aspects of the research presented in the poster. Be certain to visually indicate the specific sections or headers where the elements are located to guide your viewers through the materials. The link to the screencast will be attached to the poster page within your Pathbrite Portfolio so that your colleagues may interact with your insights into the materials.

Assessment Guide
/in Uncategorized /by JosephPsychological assessment guides are created by psychology professionals to provide the public with accurate and authoritative information appropriate for their current needs. Information available to the public about psychological testing and assessment varies widely depending on the professional creating it, the purpose of the assessment, and the intended audience. When professionals effectively educate the public on the how, what, and why behind assessments and the strengths and limitations of commonly used instruments, potential clients are in a better position to be informed users of assessment products and services. The Assessment Guides developed in this course will be designed to provide the lay public with accurate and culturally relevant information to aid them in making informed decisions about psychological testing. Students will develop their Guides with the goal of educating readers to be informed participants in the assessment process.
There is no required template for the development of the Assessment Guide. Students are encouraged to be creative while maintaining the professional appearance of their work. The Guide must be reader-friendly (sixth- to ninth-grade reading level) and easy to navigate, and it must include a combination of text, images, and graphics to engage readers in the information provided. Throughout their Guides, students will provide useful examples and definitions as well as questions readers should ask their practitioners. To ensure accuracy, students are expected to use only scholarly and peer-reviewed sources for the information in the development of their Guides.
Students will begin their Guides with a general overview of assessment, reasons for assessment referrals, and the importance of the role of each individual in the process. Within each of the remaining sections, students will describe the types of assessments that their readers may encounter, the purposes of each type of assessment, the different skills and abilities the instruments measure, the most valid and reliable uses of the measures, and limitations of the measures. A brief section will be included to describe the assessment process, the types of professionals who conduct the assessments, and what to expect during the assessment meetings.
The Assessment Guide must include the following sections:
